If items you have purchased do not meet your expectations, including items that are defective, damaged or not as described, you can request to return your purchase for a refund or exchange within 14 days from the date of delivery by emailing our customer service: [email protected].
Returns
Items returned to us that meet the following guidelines will be fully refunded for the cost of the merchandise. Original shipping charges cannot be refunded.
- Return within 14 days of receipt.
- All returns must be pre-approved and include a copy of the provided RMA form (download file).
- Products must be returned in original packaging and as-new condition. Items that do not meet the above criteria cannot be returned.
- Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility. We recommend using a trackable service and insured carrier, as damages incurred during return transit cannot be credited.
- Shipping charges from the original order are non-refundable.
- Special Order items, including custom or personalized products, are not eligible for return.
Customers have 14 days from the date of receipt to change their mind and return the items without giving a reason. maylanterns.com must issue a refund. You can request a return by contacting us at [email protected].

Refunds
Please send us your shipping tracking number by mailing us to [email protected]. Once your return is received and inspected, we will email you a notification of receipt. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, Credits will be issued using your original payment method within 3 business days. Please allow up to 30 days for return and refund.
Late or Missing Refunds
If you still haven’t gotten your refund, double check your bank account at first. Refunds sometimes show up with a different label (e.g., “Merchant Credit” instead of “Refund”) or take 1–2 extra business days to reflect. Then reach out to your credit card company—Credit card issuers often have a separate processing window for refunds—this can take a few days from when we send the funds. Next, contact your bank. Banks may hold refunds briefly for security checks, even after your credit card company approves them. A quick call to your bank’s customer service can clarify if there’s a delay on their end.

Damaged/Defective Merchandise
maylanterns.com takes great pride in our very low incidence of breakage while in transit. Please inspect each item of merchandise carefully upon arrival. If you do receive an item that is damaged or defective, in order for a damage claim to be successful, maylanterns.com must be notified of the damage within 48 hours from date of receipt, so we can arrange for a pickup and replacement of the item. A photo or video may be required to file a claim with the carrier. As the shipper,maylanterns.com will file the claim on the customer’s behalf and arrange for a refund or replacement upon assessment of the amount of actual damage. The package must be received and inspected by the customer and not refused under any circumstances.

- Please include pictures or video to file a claim of the item and packaging when emailing Customer Care.

Cancellation
- May Lanterns believes in helping its customers as far as possible, and has therefore a liberal cancellation policy. Under this policy:
- Cancellation request will be considered only if the request is made before your item is shipped.
- No cancellations are entertained for those products that the May Lanterns marketing team has obtained on special occasions like Pongal, Diwali, and Valentine’s Day etc. These are limited occasion offers and therefore cancellations are not possible.
- We do not accept cancellation requests for custom or personalized products.

Shipping or Website Errors
If the customer receives a product due to our shipping error or incorrect website information, replacements will be shipped at no additional charge to the customer, and a prepaid return shipping label will be provided for the original shipment.

We do not accept claims for damages for shipping later than 14 days after receiving the products.
